In January, Ventura filed a lawsuit in federal court in Minnesota against the Department of Homeland Security and the TSA. The lawsuit accuses the agencies of violating Ventura's rights under the Fourth Amendment, which protects Americans from unreasonable searches and seizures. During an interview in September, Ventura told Jones his career was endangered and that he was considering abandoning travel altogether due to the intrusive pat-downs and dangerous radiation emitting naked body scanners. Due to a metal prothesis from a hip replacement, Ventura routinely sets off metal detectors at airports and is subjected to the TSA's "enhanced" humiliation. Since implementing the procedures, the TSA has demanded medical patients remove urostomy bags and prosthetic breasts. In December, an Austin woman with a pacemaker was foreced to the floor by police when she objected to the prospect of TSA employees fondling her breasts.
